[PROGRAMMING]

Hey, does anyone besides me do computer programming? C++, Java, Python, C#, HTML... I'm sorry if this topic is off-topic but I think this is a talk about anything section of the forum. So yeah come here and talk about programming. Maybe we can get a community program going. Like a socomunited toolbar or app. My fav. language is python followed by c++.

I took a class on C++ and Java. Not gonna claim I passed it. lol. I know things here and there though. The deadlines are what killed me in that class. I was slow.

Haha. Yah Java can be pretty dull and boring at times. So I take it you don't enjoy programming?

I dunno. I dont wanna say I didnt like it, but I didnt pick up on things as fast as the teacher expected us to (nobody did), and Im not the only one who failed haha. I think 4 of us failed in a class of about 18-20.

Anyway, I think your idea is great and I can help pitch some ideas but when it comes to really getting busy with code your gonna have to leave me out. My dads a computer programmer / cellphone / gps or whatever the heck hes programming this year. I think 1 is enough for this family haha.

Hes doing the codework with his company (Sierra Wireless) for the GPS and stuff going into Toyota trucks and cars etc. So...the stuff he's always got on his computer confuses the hell outa me lol.

Okay what ideas do you have? Anyone else looking at this topic in puzzlement please submit ideas for a socom united related program/app or whatever.

I dunno, my head is FILLED with them. But not at the moment haha. You made the topic, did you have something in mind?

Hmm.... I'd have to learn networking but maybe I could team up with my friend who knows Droid API. We could make an app for the Droid. that would be really hard. Does anyone even have a Droid? I don't... Something easier would be a windows 7 app that is a calendar for community events. That would probably be ideal for our first project.

Nah, no need for a calendar. The site comes with one. Like the Image Gallery, I just never activated it.

I like the idea of an app. Maybe an Iphone/Ipod app? Droids are cool yes, but I dont have one and I think more people have apple products of some sort.

What can be put onto an Iphone or Ipod app, for this site, that you cant already do though? Just connect to the internet on the Ipod/phone and you can already visit this site.

This is a great idea...we just need to expand on it.

To develop for iphone u have to have an apple computer. Yes apple are control freaks. Maybe we can develop a flash app for the website. Then we use not only programmers, but ppl good at drawing.

I wish i new some C++ and Python. im just a great networker, cracking WEP, WPA, and WPA2 networks,stuff like that
