Yeah, Ive gotta admit...the M8 was beast. But gun matchups are a big thing...so it depends on what the other team was dominating with. If they were using X gun, I would use Y gun. They used Y gun, I used Z gun. Etc etc.
M8, SR-22 (was that the name?), and SFCR-LW were dominate.

XM8 was nice..but of course its no longer in production due to low durability out in battle. Was supposed to replace the M16.
